Dr Frank Amoneit, Managing Director, Euro Fed Lipid e. V., Germany: "The fourth oils+fats, too, has shown
that a trade fair taking place every two years is essential and sensible for
the sector. Business is being done right here at the fair, and that applies to
us, too, as a research organisation which has no 'products' to sell. Sadly the
oil producers in particular are missing out on market opportunities. The people
who came here to buy in 2011 again found no corresponding suppliers. It is a matter of speculation as to whether
in the future the South American or the Southeast Asian suppliers will jump in
to fill the gap." Klaus-Peter Eickhoff, Director Renewable Resources, GEA Westfalia Group GmbH, Germany: “oils+fats is an important platform
for presenting our products and for meeting our customers. It is still a small
fair, mainly because the sector itself is small, but the quality of the
visitors is truly excellent. We have conducted many important and critical
talks here with decision-makers. For that reason we will in future do all we
can to further expand the success of oils+fats." Günter Simon, Managing
Director, Harburg-Freudenberger Maschinenbau GmbH: "oils+fats 2011 lived up in full to our already high expectations.
We were able to hold detailed business talks with top-quality people and a
pleasing number of these contacts were from outside Germany. We have the strong feeling
that this event is perceived as the central European platform for our sector.
Taking part in the next oils+fats in 2013 is an absolute must for HF Press +
Lipid Tech." Gunter Börner, Managing
Director, ÖHMI Engineering, Germany: “oils+fats this year is even more attractive than
last time. The trade audience was very substantial, very select.
Certainly it
has paid off for us to be here. Which is all the more pleasing, because
this
year we have concentrated all our trade-fair activities on oils+fats
exclusively, and we took a larger stand here. For the fair itself we
see
potential for further growth, even though the event will certainly
remain a
small – but select – one, because of the limited size of
the sector. In
particular we feel there is room for expansion in terms of Eastern
Europe, both on the exhibitor and visitor sides. At any rate we
will continue to support oils+fats strongly, as we value it as a key
event for
the sector, and one whose reputation will spread still further. Those
who this
time did not seize the chance to take part will now realise quite
clearly that
they have missed something." Dr Bernhard Widmann, Director of TFZ – Technologie- und Förderzentrum
(Technology and Support Centre) in the Bavarian government´s Centre of
Excellence for Renewable Resources, Germany: "oils+fats in Munich is rightly regarded as the number one
international trade fair for oils and fats. This year again the TFZ, an
applications-oriented research institute focusing on bioenergy, was able to
welcome visitors to our stand from Germany and abroad. Using residual
materials and processing used fats were new themes for the stand visitors, and
the demand for trading partners at the fair has risen this year. It is an
incentive for the trade for more companies to not only visit oils+fats but also
to come along and exhibit here. The extension of the trade-fair concept to
include animal fats as well as trade is a key step in a promising direction.
For as demand for products made from oils and fats in the food and energy
sectors rises around the world, what we will need now more than ever are innovations
for processes that are energy- and technology-efficient, and resource-efficient
strategies for product manufacture. oils+fats offers in ideal sector platform
for technology, strategy and trade." Dr Ignace
Debruyne, Technical Marketing Consultant, Ignace Debruyne
& Associates, Belgium:
“Smart Short Courses had a very
successful program next to the oils+fats trade show with 85 participants and 20
technical lectures by exhibiting companies. The integration of the Advanced
Oilseed and Oil Processing program with the exhibition has once again shown to
be a great success. Participants as well as speakers and exhibiting companies
highly appreciated the mix of technical lectures interlaced with direct
business visits at the oils+fats trade show resulting in direct business leads
for both parties. For future development, this concept could be further
explored with the trade show covering a broader range of oils & fats
related companies, including not only equipment and process aid manufacturers,
but also a broader range of supply and demand related companies, food as well
as non-food, and service and research organizations. Having a show with such
broader basis would truly generate extra value for the full range of players
active in the oils & fats world.” Franck Geincheleau, Area Sales
Manager Food Dairy and Beverages, Serac, France: “The first two days of the fair went very well. We had
10 to 15 customer contacts per day, which is more than we had expected. We were
also positively surprised by the international spread among the audience, which
was of top quality. However, most of the inquiries were for smaller machines,
while our focus is on larger systems. But in order to draw firm conclusions we
have to first wait to see how the post-fair business develops." Michael Lierau, Director Oil Milling, Bühler AG, Switzerland: “We are very happy with the number of visitors, and
with the renewed rise in the international spread at the fair. At this event we
were able not only to meet many of our regular customers, but also to make new
contacts. The quality of the contacts was good, too, the visitors came looking
for solutions, such as on the theme of flaking soybeans and sunflower seeds, or
processing rape."
