- The second oils+fats – International Trade Fair for
the Production and Processing of Oils and Fats made from Renewable Resources –
takes place between 18 and 20 November 2008
- International programme of accompanying events gives
added value for trade visitors
Between
18 and 20 November 2008 decision-makers and experts from the oils and fats
industry will be converging on the M,O,C, Events Centre for the second
oils+fats – International Trade Fair for the Production and Processing of Oils
and Fats made from Renewable Resources. Here they will be able to learn about
and discuss in detail all the latest trends and technological developments and
make new business contacts. oils+fats covers all the stages in manufacturing
and processing oils and fats made from renewable raw materials. The extensive
range of products and services showcased here – from the latest findings on raw
materials and cultivation techniques, to auxiliary materials, machinery and systems,
and quality assurance and logistics – will attract great interest from trade
visitors from Germany and abroad.
The accompanying
programme at oils+fats – offered in both German and English – provides visitors
with first-hand information on practical themes from the oils and fats
industry.
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Fettwissenschaft e.V. (German
Society for Fat Research), for example, will be offering German-language
training on the subject of
'Stabilisation
of lipids in foodstuffs' and
'Modification
of fats and oils'.
Once again this
year, the Bundesverband Dezentraler
Ölmühlen e.V. (German Federation of Oil Mills) will be providing
information for its members and other interested visitors in the form of a
series of seminars on the subjects of
'Organoleptic
testing of edible oils', 'Storage of
rape seed and colza cake', and
'Fiscal issues regarding the production and distribution of vegetable oil'.
Practical short courses, in the English language, deal with the themes
of
Advanced Edible Oil Refining &
Processing: Case Studies and Trouble Shooting and
Biodiesel: Market Trends, Chemistry & Production, all of which
are on the first two days of the fair. Then on 20 November the subject is I
ndustrial Uses of Vegetable Oils:
Biodiesel, Ink, Solvents, Lubricants and Bio-Plastics (organisers: ID&A
Ignace Debruyne & Associates VOF and Filtration
and Membrane World LLC).
Norbert Bargmann, Managing Director of Messe München GmbH, commented: "With
visitors from 58 countries, among them Australia,
Canada and the US, oils+fats
made an excellent start last year! Already, after just one event so far, it is
considered as the leading industry gathering, with direct access to the right
decision-makers and opinion formers from all over the world."
Oils and fats from
renewable resources – whether as a foodstuff, fuel or base for manufacturing a
wide range of other products – is a growth market. Its importance is rising
continuously, because of the increasing scarcity of resources, an issue that is
very much in the spotlight recently. oils+fats provides the sector, for the
first time, with an international trade fair concentrating on practical
solutions. Here current themes and challenges are tackled, for example
sustainability, new fuel plants and the strong demand worldwide for oils and
fats for the food and feedstuffs market.
