The Oktoberfest - Munich`s "fifth season"
For two weeks out of every year, it is the dream destination for visitors from around the world: the Munich Oktoberfest.
The Oktoberfest traditionally begins with the Parade of Oktoberfest Landlords and Breweries. Then the Lord Mayor of Munich taps the first keg of beer, officially opening the Oktoberfest with the words "O-zapft is".
