- 2,600 visitors attend oils+fats 2009
- Fair more international than ever
- Exhibitors and visitors extremely satisfied
The third oils+fats, the International Trade Fair for the Production and
Processing of Oils and Fats made from Renewable Resources, closed a complete
success with a total of 2,600 visitors (2008: 1,200 visitors) from more than 90
countries (2008: 58 countries). The number of visitors more than doubled
compared to last year.
Günter
Simon, Managing Director of Harburg-Freudenberger Maschinen-bau GmbH and
Chairman of the Technical Advisory Board for oils+fats, was very positive as he
reflected on the fair: "Once again, oils+fats 2009 proved to be a central
event and one that is indispensible for our company. It allowed us to cultivate
key customer contacts and hold intense discussions. For us, this event will
remain a must in the future."
According to Norbert Bargmann, Managing Director at Messe München GmbH: "Until
now, we could only dream of visitor numbers such as these. I am very please
that oils+fats 2009 has met with such a strong response and that we managed to
make optimum use of the synergy with drinktec."
Dr. Bernhard Widmann, Head of the Technology and Support Centre (TFZ) in
Straubing: "oils+fats is a small, relatively new trade fair with a
prominent group of exhibitors. Given the technological links to drinktec, there
were plenty of good reasons to hold these two events at the same time. And oils+fats
profited from that decision. Visitors included experts and specialists from the
industry and from small and medium-sized enterprises as well as manufacturers
and users from rural areas. Because the biofuels industry has been badly shaken
by political and economic conditions, there were also some intense discussions about
politics in this sub-category at this year's fair." Participants also demonstrated that they appreciated being
able to cultivate international business contacts in a concentrated manner at a
single location and to invest in international networks.
There was a
distinct working atmosphere at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre on all three
days of the fair. "A very interesting event. A great opportunity to meet
professionals from the oils industry and develop our contacts and business oils+fats
has been a fertile occasion to exchange information and views, too!" summarized
Claudio Vignoli, Managing Director, BULKOIL, SRL.
The numerous
trade associations representing the oils and fats industry, which have
unanimously supported oils+fats from the very beginning, were also very
satisfied. Dr. Frank Amoneit, Managing Director of Euro Fed Lipid, summarized
as follows: "We are very pleased that "our" trade fair oils+fats
not only took place in this year of global economic crisis, but that it also had
a record-breaking number of visitors. Exhibitors who had the foresight to book
a stand here will now reap the rewards. The others will just have to wait until
the next oils+fats."
oils+fats also received excellent
marks from its visitors. According to a survey of visitors conducted by opinion
research institute forschungplus, 91 percent of all visitors indicated that
they were planning to attend oils+fats again. Dr. Rupert Schäfer from the Bavarian
State Ministry of Agriculture attended oils+fats for the first time: "This
is a small but mighty exhibition that showcases everything that is needed to
produce the most precious vegetable ingredient, i.e. oil. Global production of
vegetable oil has been increasing continuously for decades. May oils+fats continue
to grow with it."
